Sidetracked

It’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-by. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.

This city is just a holding place for the cool kids.
Eventually they grow tired of the heat, losing their money to people offering them an escape, feeling lost. It can take years for them to pave a way out of here. They find other cool kids to settle down with for a while, but then their friends aren't enough to distract them anymore.
The cool kids start to realize that while they were coasting they were wasting their time. Things are okay now, but that's not what the game's about. It's almost over and they haven't got much to show for it.
So they leave this place to find excitement and energy.
It's possible that the new spot won't offer them anything more. They had it good before and then they messed it up.
But it's almost over now and they have to have something to show for it.
