Sidetracked

Oh so busy. Is it Friday yet?

I've got three hours to throw together a research paper comparing Ms. magazine to its online version and, if I'm lucky, a power point presentation to go along with it.
I know. You're jealous.

Why am I just now starting on a research project that's due tomorrow at 11 a.m.? Because I've been busy studying for Media Law; firing a writer and writing her stories; editing editing editing; and trying not to tear my hair out.
The good news is I spent the night in my apartment Monday night. I found a few dead wasps, but no live ones. I've been craving the structure that goes with having one place to go to at the end of the day; a place to cook dinner and watch TV and study. I hate my duffel bag.

Speaking of moving around, we helped Mike and Lauren move out on Saturday. It wasn't as sad as I was expecting. I guess because they gave us months to get used to the idea that they wouldn't be around anymore. I'll miss them, but I think they'll be better off in Chicago. Dallas isn't a good fit for anyone I know.

And lordy, the holidays are just around the corner. The mention of Christmas and Thanksgiving makes my stomach ache. My dad's already asking what my plans are, trying not to be pushy though. I think he can sense my disdain for the season. And Dave's family invited me to spend Thanksgiving with them. This is something that I doubt would go over well with the fam.
I guess we'll see what happens.
