Sidetracked

All dressed up with no place to go.

We placed an order for a washer and dryer last weekend and arranged for delivery on Monday. Well, Monday came and went. The store's truck broke down, and the owner told Dave the delivery would be on Tuesday instead. Tuesday came and went too. Now we're waiting for the washer and dryer to arrive today, and we desperately need to do laundry. If they don't come today I might be sitting around tomorrow in my dressy clothes. Sitting around in dressy clothes is way more depressing that sitting around in jeans and a T-shirt.

In other news, we suspect that we have a mold problem in the house. Dave and I have had headaches almost everyday since we moved in, and there's an awful smell circulating throughout the house that I'm pretty sure originates under the kitchen sink. It's damp and really smelly under there, which either means mold has sprouted or it is the gateway to hell.

We may have to burn the place down.

Ahh – black mold scare! I’d never been afraid of mold as much as when I moved to Texas. Were your walls painted before you moved in? They painted the walls in our apt. here and for about the first two weeks the smell was really nauseating and headache-inducing. Or, you know, you could stop punching each other in the head. That might work too. 🙂

They did paint before we moved in, but it isn’t a paint smell. It’s like a rotting dead animal smell.

    Update:

The washer and dryer came, but it’s a stackable and our laundry room isn’t set up for a stackable. The guy will be back tomorrow with a separate washer and dryer. Ugh.

You sure the smell isn’t just that load of dirty clothes?

and couldn’t you just take a load of clothes to the laundermat or wash a shirt in the sink and hang it in the heat?

…or wash ’em in the river and drape ’em on a stoned hippie to dry?

You guys moved to the modern equivilent of a one-horse town: a town with one delivery truck.
