Sidetracked

LOST

Wednesdays are my new favorite days because of this. And if Wednesdays are my favorite, then today is like Christmas. Two full hours of Lost is like opening presents for two hours. It’s bittersweet, since I’ll have to wait months to see another episode, and I know they end this evening with some outrageous cliff hanger, like Jack and Juliet will get married and then he’ll sleep with Kate and Kate will tell him she’s in love with him and then Juliet will tell him she wants to have his babies. Poor Jack.

Anyway, to commemorate the new Christmas I’m making White Chili:

Chicken tenderloins

1 can northern white beans

1 jar salsa

1 can chicken broth

8 oz shredded colby jack cheese

Fry the chicken in olive oil until cooked and then cut into cubes. In a sauce pan, mix salsa, chicken broth, beans and chicken. When hot, slowly stir in cheese until melted (it will stick to the bottom if not thoroughly stirred).

So it’s not wild boar burgers or speared tilapia fillets. Big deal.

Dammit. I’ve got to miss the finale for a kickball game. We need Tivo.

We won our kickbal game though, beating a team that had won 16 straight games. We are heroes. We are survivors on an island of insanity.

It was good, but it came out way cheesier than expected. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
